Folds of Honor/Tuition assistance
Folds of Honor Scholarship
Amount variesNot guaranteedLimited number available
For children of service members who were killed or disabled in service. It covers what your other aid does not, including tuition, fees, halls, meals and required textbooks, and it counts loans and work study as NOT covering anything. The window is 1 February to 31 March every year.
Based on what your other aid leaves uncovered, so the amount depends on your costs rather than on a set figure. Payment is capped at 2,500 dollars a term, or 1,250 part time, and cannot be taken as one lump sum. Loans and work study are not counted as aid when working out what is uncovered, which is unusually generous and means having a loan does not reduce this.
Closes each year on 31 March, next in 164 days
What you need
The official page does not list required documents. Check the official page before you apply, since a provider can ask for paperwork it does not publish.
How to apply
- 1Apply in February, not MarchThe window is only two months and there is no rolling entry. Applications go through their online portal and cannot be started once it shuts.
- 2Work out your unmet need before you applyThat is tuition, fees, halls, meals and required textbooks, minus what other awards cover. Loans and work study do not count as covering anything, so include costs you were planning to borrow for.
