• Who can applyDescription: Philanthropists Steven and Lola Kaider established a foundation to assist women with educational expenses as they returned to school to complete programs and serve in health care careers. This endowment to the Foothill-De Anza Foundation funds scholarships for these re-entry women. The Health Care Scholarship Fund was established to ensure equivalent opportunities for men. Minimum Qualifications: 1.
• Who can applyApplicant must meet one or more of the following definitions of "re-entry": Applicant did not attend college after completing high school for a period of one academic year or more (due to work, family, or personal circumstances); OR Applicant attended college after high school but had to stop for a period of one academic year or more (due to work, family, or personal circumstances); OR Applicant is currently trained, as a health care professional but, due to an adverse employment situation caused by changing job markets, must retrain. 2.
• Who can applyApplicant must be accepted into or currently enrolled in one of the qualifying health care related programs at Foothill College: Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Emergency Medical Technology, Paramedic, Pharmacy Technician, Primary Care Associate, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Therapy, or Veterinary Technology. 3. Applicant's cumulative Foothill GPA must be a 2.00 or higher. For application purposes, this requirement is waived for students who are new to Foothill College and, therefore, have not established a Foothill GPA . 4.
• Who can applyApplicant must pass each course in the program curriculum with a "C" or better and must remain in good standing in the program. The minimum course enrollment is six (6) units per quarter for the health care program courses. 5. Applicant must be enrolled in six (6) units or more of the health care program coursework at the time of scholarship disbursements.
