James and Helen Newby Scholarship

Amount variesNot guaranteed

A note from Captain Newby: As a student, I attended SIUC from 1962-1966. In 1964, I had the opportunity to witness the beginning of the SIUC Aviation Program. Although I had obtained my flight ratings prior to the program's inception, I have fond memories of learning to fly here at the university. I went on to a 37 year career with American Airlines, retiring as a Captain on the Boeing 777.
