What you need
The official page does not list required documents. Check the official page before you apply, since a provider can ask for paperwork it does not publish.
How to apply
- 1Ask the institution to apply the waiver at admissionThe statute places the duty on the institution rather than on a state office, so the college is who decides and applies it. Ask before your first bill rather than seeking a refund afterwards.
- 2If you are a spouse, ask about the former spouse provision tooThe statute covers a qualified former spouse who is the custodial parent of a minor child of the marriage, which people assume divorce ends. It does not.
