Who can applyThis endowed scholarship is available to undergraduate students pursuing a degree at Northeastern Illinois University. To qualify, you may be a beginning freshman who has been admitted to NEIU , or you may be a continuing undergraduate student enrolled at NEIU , in good academic standing, with a cumulative Grade Point Average between 2.0 and 3.4. This scholarship is automatically renewed each year of the winner's academic study at NEIU , provided that the recipient maintains a 2.0 Grade Point Average or higher.
Who can applyPreference is given to students of Puerto Rican descent who graduated from Lake View High School in Chicago, IL, as well as to applicants who are children of single-parent households. If no applicants in a given year are of Puerto Rican descent, then preference shall be given to applicants of Hispanic descent. If no applicants in a given year are graduates or prospective graduates of Lake View High School, then preference shall be given to applicants who graduated from any high school within the Chicago Public School system.
