• Who can applyGRADUATE and HONORS & RECOGNITION AWARD Vicki E. Dyson (1937-1990) put her heart and soul into her role as the American Academy of Osteopathy's executive director. She truly loved her job and all the people that made up the Academy. She took great pride in serving every individual with whom she came in contact and was very proud of her association with the osteopathic profession. She was a special and caring person who touched lives in many wonderful ways. The Vicki Dyson Memorial Scholarship was established by Dr. V. Gladys Shutt (aka "Dr. Glad") in 1990.
• Who can applyOne award is presented annually to a COMP (Pomona) student in good academic standing, who is a member of SAAO and has completed an elective OMM rotation. (A very similar award is presented by the American Academy of Osteopathy. For details, check out the SAAO Chapter Notebook at https://www.academyofosteopathy.org/student.) Please limit your applications to a maximum of three Graduate Awards and three Honors & Recognition Awards. Applications exceeding these limits will not be considered.
• Who can applyProhibition of AI-Generated Content To maintain academic integrity and ensure the authenticity of work, the use of generative artificial intelligence tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Grammarly GO, Bard, or similar) to produce, rewrite, or substantially edit content in submissions is strictly prohibited. All submitted work must reflect the student's own original thinking, analysis, and expression. Any use of AI-generated material will be considered a violation of academic honesty policies and may result in disqualification of award application.
